Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks an experienced Thermal Systems Engineer to advance a next‑generation CDU family for data center cooling. You will transform custom cooling solutions into standardized modular platforms, applying deep expertise in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, HVAC, and thermal modeling.

The role covers full product development from concept through manufacturing, with localization support across North America, Europe, and Asia, and collaboration with controls for optimization.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in thermal systems engineering or product development.

Responsibilities

• Thermal & System Design: Perform thermal calculations, heat transfer analysis, and fluid flow modeling.
• Product Development: Support conversion of custom products into standardized configurable platforms and participate in full lifecycle activities.
• Controls & Performance Optimization: Collaborate with controls engineers to define operational logic and control algorithms, and analyze pump control, flow management, and heat rejection optimization strategies.
• Manufacturing & Localization Support: Support localization initiatives across North America, Europe, and Asia and participate in design verification and production readiness activities.
