Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a technology manager to lead a data center operations team responsible for cloud infrastructure across global locations.

The role emphasizes people management, strategic planning, and mentoring, with on-call responsibilities and cross-functional collaboration. You will drive staffing, ticket queue performance, and operational KPIs while guiding process improvements and hardware/network diagnostics.

Qualifications

• 4+ years IT experience or degree in CS, engineering, mathematics.
• 2+ years of people management experience.
• 2+ years of data center operations/on-call experience.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators.
• Manage performance of a diverse team across locations.
• Develop Career Paths for employees and update internal tools.
• Recruit and train data technicians for staffing levels.
• Ensure day-to-day data center operations with queue management and 24/7 shifts.
• Act as subject matter expert across data center operations.
• Ensure operational KPIs and metrics are measured and met.
• Lead process improvements and automation initiatives.
• Manage Large Scale Events (outages) and act as call leader.
• Improve workflows and throughput for data center operations.
• Oversee policies and procedures to meet SLAs and industry best practices.
• Maintain on-call schedule and coordinate vacations.
