Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a technology manager to lead a data center operations team responsible for the global cloud infrastructure. You will mentor staff, sponsor projects, and propose technical solutions while coordinating hardware, network, and service delivery across locations.

You will also participate in on-call rotations and manage outages, ensuring SLAs and KPIs are met. A strong technical background, travel willingness, and people leadership are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 4+ years IT experience or Bachelor’s degree in CS, Eng, Math or equivalent
• 2+ years of people management experience
• 2+ years of operations and on-call support for data center facilities
• Willingness to travel and work at multiple data center sites
• 2+ years of computer hardware experience
• Experience with system management tools and client/server environments

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators
• Manage performance of a diverse data center operations team across locations
• Develop career paths for employees and update internal tools
• Recruit and train data technicians to ensure staffing levels
• Oversee day-to-day data center operations and 7/24 shift arrangements
• Serve as subject matter expert across data center operations
• Ensure operational KPIs and metrics are tracked and met
• Lead large-scale outage events and act as call leader
• Improve workflows and throughput for data center operations
• Document and oversee policies to meet SLAs
• Maintain on-call schedules and vacations
• Focus on service quality and customer experience
