Amazon Data Services, Inc. in North Carolina is seeking a technology manager to lead a diverse data center operations team responsible for global cloud infrastructure. You will mentor staff, sponsor projects, devise strategies, and propose technical solutions while supporting on-call rotations and travel between sites.

The role emphasizes people management, hardware/network diagnostics, and continuous improvement to ensure safety, uptime, and efficiency across AWS data centers.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of IT experience or Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent.
• 2+ years of people management experience.
• 2+ years of operations and on-call support for data center facilities, mission critical plants, or production facilities experience.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators.
• Manage the performance of diverse teams of data center operation professionals across locations.
• Develop career paths for employees and update internal tools.
• Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
• Ensure day-to-day data center operations including queue management, 7/24 shift arrangement and hardware logistics.
• Lead large-scale events (outages) and act as the call leader.
• Improve workflows and throughput for data centers operations and drive automation.
