U.S. Bank is seeking a Global Head of Custody Operations to lead a global team responsible for front-to-back operations across markets, currencies, and asset classes, ensuring safekeeping, settlement, and client service excellence.

This senior role drives transition to real-time exception management, automation, and resilience, balancing risk, compliance, and client experience in a complex, regulated environment.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of financial services experience in operations (investment banking, asset management, or custody)
• Deep expertise across securities processing, settlement, corporate actions, income/tax processing, and other custody functions
• Strong knowledge of regulations and industry best practices (OCC, DTC/DTCC, CSDR)
• Transformation and automation program leadership to simplify processes and improve risk management
• Experience managing budgets, workforce plans, capacity models, and procurement in large-scale operations
• Proven track record across operations, risk, compliance, and technology plus sub-custodian relationships
• Proven ability to operate in a compressed, high-risk, deadline-driven environment with executive communication
• Excellent communication, leadership, stakeholder-management skills with client-centric mindset
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the operational strategy for custody operations, aligning with goals and regulatory requirements
• Lead real-time exception management and redesign workflows to meet tight settlement timelines
• Drive digital transformation—RPA, automation, cloud, AI, and ISO 20022 to raise STP rates
• Oversee sub-custodian relationships, network governance, and market resilience
• Own the operational client experience, including service recovery and escalation management
• Identify and mitigate operational, regulatory, and credit risk within the custody business
• Ensure regulatory reporting and compliance with applicable standards
• Lead a global team and workforce strategy to scale with demand
• Monitor KPIs/SLAs and manage budgets and vendor performance
