Job summary

U.S. Bank seeks a Global Head of Custody Operations to lead a global team responsible for safekeeping and servicing client assets across multiple markets and currencies.

The role focuses on transforming the operating model toward real-time processing, embedding automation and AI, and strengthening regulatory compliance and client experience. Responsibilities include strategy development, end-to-end operations execution, risk management, and vendor oversight.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in financial services with 10+ in leadership (managing managers)
• Deep expertise in securities processing, settlement, corporate actions and income/tax processing
• Strong regulatory knowledge (OCC, DTC/DTCC, CSDR) and risk management
• Proven record in transformation and automation to improve process efficiency
• Experience managing budgets, workforce plans, capacity models, and vendor performance
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and executive presence

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute operational strategy for custody operations and align with business goals and regulatory requirements
• Lead transition from batch processing to real-time exception management and embed automation/AI
• Oversee securities settlements, corporate actions, income collection, proxy voting, and account reconciliation across global markets
• Manage pre-settlement matching, settlement discipline, and CSDR penalties to minimize risk
• Oversee regulatory reporting, audits, and business continuity planning
• Lead global team development, workforce strategy, and succession planning
• Manage sub-custodian relationships, vendor governance, and market resiliency
