Job summary

Veeva Systems in Boston, MA seeks a Global Data Science Lead to guide the Data Science function within the Global Analytics Team. You will mentor data scientists, AI/ML engineers, and analysts while turning strategy into concrete delivery plans that apply advanced analytics and generative AI to life sciences data.

Qualifications

• PhD in a quantitative field with 5+ years experience or MS with 8+ years of research experience.
• Experience applying analytics/AI/ML to Life Sciences data.
• Hands-on experience with LLM-based systems (prompt engineering, RAG, agentic workflows, or fine-tuning).

Responsibilities

• Lead the Data Science function within the Global Analytics Team.
• Mentor and inspire a team of data scientists, AI/ML engineers, and analysts.
• Translate the data science AI strategy into team priorities and delivery plans.
• Own model management, observability, testing, and deployment.
• Oversee design/implementation of advanced analytics and AI models.
• Ensure robust data/AI infrastructure to support deliverables.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate customer needs into AI solutions.
• Surface opportunities for applying AI with product/business stakeholders.
• Enforce data quality, governance, and responsible AI practices.
• Implement rigorous testing for data/ML/AI model accuracy.
