Job summary

Veeva Systems, Inc. is seeking a Global Data Science Lead within the Global Analytics Team in the San Francisco Bay Area to drive advanced analytics, ML, and generative AI initiatives on life sciences data.

You will lead a diverse group of data scientists, AI/ML engineers, and analysts, turning strategy into concrete delivery while ensuring robust model governance and scalable AI infrastructure. This role requires a Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in a quantitative field with 5+ years of industry experience
• Experience in Life Sciences analytics and AI/ML applications
• Hands-on experience with LLM-based systems and advanced AI techniques
• Proven leadership of teams of 10+ people

Responsibilities

• Lead the Data Science function within the Global Analytics Team
• Mentor and inspire a team of data scientists, AI/ML engineers, and analysts
• Translate strategy into team priorities and delivery plans
• Own global methodology – model management, observability, testing, and deployment
• Oversee design and implementation of advanced analytics and generative AI models
• Ensure robust data and AI infrastructure supporting deliverables
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate customer requirements into AI solutions
• Work with stakeholders to surface opportunities for AI within engagements
• Enforce best practices for data quality, governance, and responsible AI use
• Implement rigorous testing to validate model accuracy and reliability
