Job summary

Veeva invites a Global Data Science Lead to direct a world-class team of data scientists, AI/ML engineers, and analysts within the Global Analytics Team. You will translate strategy into actionable projects that apply advanced analytics and generative AI to life sciences data.

You will partner with Global Analytics leadership and cross-functional colleagues to design scalable AI-native solutions, enforce governance and testing, and deliver impact for customers worldwide.

Qualifications

• PhD with 5+ years in relevant field or MS with 8+ years of research experience.
• Experience applying analytics and AI/ML to Life Sciences data.
• Hands-on with LLM-based systems: prompt engineering, RAG, or fine-tuning.
• Led teams of 10+ people and demonstrated strong leadership.
• Excellent communication to explain complex AI concepts to teams and clients.
• Comfortable with changing requirements and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Data Science function within the Global Analytics Team aligned to goals.
• Mentor a team of data scientists, AI/ML engineers, and analysts.
• Translate broader strategy into team priorities and delivery plans.
• Own model management, observability, testing, and deployment.
• Foster collaboration across consulting, data science, and engineering.
• Oversee design and implementation of advanced analytics and generative AI models.
• Ensure robust, scalable AI infrastructure to support deliverables.
• Translate customer requirements into AI-native data-driven solutions.
• Surface opportunities for applying AI with product and business stakeholders.
• Enforce data quality, security, governance, and responsible AI practices.
