SCA Health in San Diego, CA, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for Endoscopy. The role involves developing perioperative plans, ensuring patient safety, administering medications, and maintaining aseptic technique throughout the perioperative period.

Ideal candidates have GI/OR/medical-surgical nursing experience, active state licensure, and relevant certifications (BLS/ACLS/PALS). The position is on-site with a comprehensive nursing team and opportunities for professional growth.

Formación

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Not satisfied?
• Current state nursing licensure to practice.
• ACLS/PALS/BLS certifications are required or preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Develop an individualized perioperative patient plan of care by implementing.
• Protect the patient from injury caused by extraneous objects and chemical, electrical, mechanical, and thermal sources.
• Demonstrate safe operation of equipment and follow procedures for reporting unsafe conditions.
• Speak up with safety concerns acting as the patient’s advocate.
• Handle specimens according to facility policy and procedures.
• Adhere to Universal Protocol and time-out policy; communicate patient status to the care team.
• Administer medications safely using the 8 rights of medication administration.
• Practice and monitor aseptic technique.
• Implement plan of care including recovery from anesthesia—moderate sedation and MAC.
• Assess patient status at intervals per policy; provide monitoring and care.
• Ensure endoscopy scopes are prepared and instruments maintained.
• Protect patient rights, dignity and privacy; provide patient education.
• Transfer care with accurate hand-off reports; document care accurately.
• Maintain competencies and pursue professional growth.
