Job summary

SCA Health in the United States is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Endoscopy to deliver perioperative patient care within the GI/endoscopy setting. The role emphasizes safe medication administration, aseptic technique and collaborative care within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include developing perioperative plans, managing recovery from anesthesia, maintaining endoscopy instruments, and ensuring patient safety through standard protocols and effective communication with the care

Qualifications

• GI, OR and /or medical / surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Current state nursing licensure to practice in good standing.
• Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) within 90 days of employment.
• Successful completion of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of employment.
• Required Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) if pediatric care is included.

Responsibilities

• Develop an individualized perioperative patient plan of care.
• Protect the patient from injury from exogenous sources and ensure safety.
• Demonstrate safe operation of equipment and report unsafe situations.
• Administer medications safely using the 8 rights of medication administration.
• Manage patient recovery from anesthesia, including moderate sedation or MAC.
• Maintain endoscopy instruments and accessories in working order.
• Provide education to patient and family about perioperative care and recovery.
