Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, geological engineering, geology or a closely related field.
  • Four to six years of progressively responsible geotechnical engineering or engineering geology.
  • Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist licensure; PE/PG candidates considered.
  • Experience planning or performing subsurface investigations and coordinating field/lab testing.
  • Ability to prepare organized, accurate geotechnical reports.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate subsurface investigations with project managers, including boring locations and field schedules.
  • Lead field investigations, classify soil/rock cores, collect groundwater readings and logs.
  • Coordinate and assign laboratory testing for soil and rock, and interpret results.
  • Perform geotechnical calculations for foundations, earthwork, slopes, and pavement systems.
  • Develop geotechnical reports and practical recommendations.
  • Support construction-phase services and client communications.
  • Review field/testing reports for accuracy and consistency with project requirements.
