The role emphasizes technical execution, subsurface investigations, reporting, and field coordination, with growth toward project management as skills and client relationships develop.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, geological engineering, geology, or a closely related field.
  • Four to six years of geotechnical engineering or engineering geology experience.
  • Professional licensure: PE or PG; candidates eligible for PE within 12 months strongly considered.
  • Experience planning subsurface investigations and coordinating field and laboratory testing.
  • Ability to interpret field and laboratory data and prepare engineering recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate subsurface investigations with project managers and site teams.
  • Lead field investigations; classify soil and rock core samples; collect readings; log conditions.
  • Coordinate laboratory testing for soil and rock samples and interpret results.
  • Perform geotechnical calculations for foundations, earthwork, slopes, and pavement systems.
  • Develop practical geotechnical recommendations and prepare reports.
  • Review field/test reports for accuracy and consistency with project requirements.
