Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, geological engineering, geology, or a closely related field.
  • Four to six years of geotechnical engineering or engineering geology experience.
  • PE or PG licensure; candidates eligible for PE within ~12 months considered.
  • Experience planning subsurface investigations and coordinating field and laboratory testing.
  • Ability to develop soil and rock parameters for engineering evaluation and prepare professional reports.
  • Experience in foundations, settlement, earthwork, retaining walls, slopes, pavements, or ground-improvement systems.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license with >=3 years driving; ability to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate subsurface investigations with project managers.
  • Lead field investigations and prepare boring logs.
  • Coordinate laboratory testing for soil and rock samples.
  • Perform geotechnical calculations for foundations, earthwork, and slopes.
  • Develop geotechnical reports and practical recommendations.
  • Support construction-phase services and field coordination.
  • Review field and test reports for accuracy.
  • Provide day-to-day technical guidance to staff.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors and drillers; communicate findings clearly.
  • Assist with proposals, scopes of work, and project scheduling.
