Job summary

Schnabel Engineering is seeking a temporary full-time Civil Engineering Intern for May–August 2027 in Michigan. The role focuses on applying professional principles to real problems under senior supervision, with emphasis on broadening practical knowledge in geotechnical fieldwork and office support.

The position requires ABET-accredited undergraduate enrollment, strong communication skills, and a willingness to work outdoors, including lifting up to 50 pounds. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in ABET-accredited Civil EngineeringBachelor’s program; related programs may be considered.
• Possess good oral and written communication skills and computer literacy.
• Ability to work with direction as part of a team; willingness to perform office and field tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical field work including subsurface exploration and GPS layout of borings.
• Conduct construction observation and materials testing at sites.
• Perform laboratory testing and prepare basic plans using AutoCAD and GIS.
• Support engineers in preparing geotechnical proposals and reports.
