Job summary

Schnabel invites a temporary full-time Civil Engineering Intern to join our team for May–August 2027. You will support senior engineers in geotechnical fieldwork, testing, and reporting while gaining practical experience in AutoCAD and GIS.

The role emphasizes applying professional principles to real problems and provides exposure to diverse projects in earth and environment engineering.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program or related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work in a team.
• Willingness to perform field and office tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical field work including subsurface exploration and GPS layout of borings.
• Conduct construction observation and materials testing at sites.
• Perform laboratory testing as needed.
• Create basic plans and figures using AutoCAD and GIS.
• Support engineers with geotechnical proposals and reports.
• Occasional travel may be required.
