Schnabel is seeking a temporary full-time Civil Engineering Intern to support our growing geotechnical projects in the Rockville, MD area. The internship runs May through August 2027 and emphasizes applying professional principles to real problems under supervision of senior engineers.

You will perform geotechnical field work, observe construction, run tests, and create basic AutoCAD/GIS figures while gaining practical knowledge and experience. Travel may be required.

Qualificações

• Current enrollment in ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program.
• Strong oral and written communication; ability to work in a team.
• Willingness to perform office and field tasks; outdoors preferred.
• Must lift up to 50 pounds.
• Preferred: Master’s degree, junior/senior/graduate students, prior internship.

Responsabilidades

• Perform geotechnical field work observing subsurface exploration.
• Use GPS to layout borings and perform infiltration testing.
• Perform construction observation and materials testing.
• Perform laboratory testing.
• Create basic plans and figures using AutoCAD and GIS.
• Provide support to engineers on geotechnical proposals and reports.
• Some travel may be required.
