Job summary

The internship offers hands-on geotechnical field work, site observations, lab testing, and the use of AutoCAD and GIS. Candidates must be currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program, possess good communication skills, be able to lift up

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in ABET-accredited Civil Engineering Bachelor's program.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team and take direction.
• Willingness to perform a variety of tasks including office and field work.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Performing geotechnical field work including observing subsurface exploration, using GPS to layout borings, and performing infiltration testing.
• Performing construction observation and materials testing at construction sites.
• Performing laboratory testing.
• Create basic plans and figures using AutoCAD and GIS.
• Providing support to engineers on preparing geotechnical proposals and reports.
• Some travel may be required.
