Job summary

Schnabel is seeking a temporary full-time Civil Engineering intern to support our growing firm in Colorado. The internship emphasizes applying professional principles to real problems under supervision of senior engineers, with the term running from May through August 2027.

The ideal candidate is currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program, has strong communication skills, and is willing to perform both office and field tasks, including outdoor work and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering Bachelor’s program.
• Possess good oral and written communication skills and computer literacy.
• Ability to work with direction as part of a team.
• Willingness to perform a variety of tasks including office and field work.
• Desire and willingness to work outdoors.
• Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in performing geotechnical investigations and analyses, retaining wall/excavation support design, hydrology and hydraulic studies; and reinforced concrete design.
• Preparing construction plans.
• Supporting advanced earthquake engineering analyses.
• Performing construction observation and materials testing.
• Some travel may be required.
