Schnabel is seeking a temporary full-time Civil Engineering intern to support our growing practice in Lakewood, Colorado, from May through August 2027. The role emphasizes applying professional principles to real problems under the supervision of senior engineers, with exposure to geotechnical investigations, design, and field work.

Qualified candidates are enrolled in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program, possess good communication and computer skills, and are willing to work both in

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Able to work in a team and outdoors.
• Willingness to perform both office and field tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist in geotechnical investigations and analyses, retaining wall/excavation support design, hydrology and hydraulic studies; and reinforced concrete design.
• Prepare construction plans.
• Support advanced earthquake engineering analyses.
• Perform construction observation and materials testing.
• Some travel may be required.
