Job summary

PowerSecure, a Southern Company subsidiary, seeks a Service Technician – Commercial Generators to maintain and repair contracted generator and power distribution equipment at customer sites. The role requires travel, on-call support, and collaboration with the Product Support team to resolve issues.

You'll perform preventative maintenance, diagnose engine and electrical faults, and provide technical support to customers while upholding safety standards and company procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: three years of field experience servicing generator systems; Level II/III/IV progression with increasing expertise.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams; experience with Woodward, Beckwith, and PLC equipment is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work with customers and maintain professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Daily travel to customer sites with independent work structure.
• Provide 24x7 on-call services as required.
• Maintain and safeguard company equipment, tools, and instruments.
• Perform preventative maintenance on contracted equipment.
• Provide technical support and be the primary customer contact for on-site visits.
