Job summary
PowerSecure, a Southern Company subsidiary, is seeking a Service Technician to maintain and repair commercial generator and power distribution equipment in Wilson, NC. You will perform routine maintenance, diagnose issues, and provide on-site technical support to customers, often traveling to client sites with an independent work structure.
Daily on-call duties and the ability to read schematics, operate test equipment, and coordinate with the Product Support team are essential.
Qualifications
- Level II requires 3 years of field service on generator systems.
- Level III requires 6 years with extensive 500kW+ experience including paralleling switch gear, ATS repairs.
- Level IV requires 10 years of field experience with expert preventative maintenance and advanced controls.
- Ability to perform triennial maintenance, engine diagnostics, fuel system priming.
- High School diploma or GED, related military experience or field experience.
Responsibilities
- Daily travel with independent work structure.
- Provide 24x7 on-call services as required.
- Maintain and safeguard company equipment, tools, and instruments.
- Battery installations and replacements.
- Perform required preventative maintenance on contracted equipment.
- Complete Field Service Reports, Time Sheets, and other required paperwork.
- Provide technical support to customers upon request.
- Read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
