Job summary

PowerSecure, a Southern Company subsidiary, is seeking a Service Technician – Commercial Generators in Sanford, NC to perform maintenance and repair of contracted and non-contracted generator and power distribution equipment, and to provide technical support to customers.

The role requires extensive field experience with generator systems, proficiency in reading schematics, and the ability to work independently on customer sites with on-call responsibilities. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include completing essential duties.
• Level II/III/IV technician experience levels with generator systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical instructions and safety manuals.

Responsibilities

• Daily travel with independent work structure.
• Provide 24x7 on-call services as required.
• Maintain and safeguard company equipment and tools.
• Battery installations and replacements.
• Perform preventative maintenance on contracted equipment.
• Customer contact and interface.
• Coordinate and manage on-site subcontractors as necessary.
• Maintain vehicle in safe condition.
• Ensure work meets PSS standards.
• Complete paperwork timely and accurately.
• Provide technical support to customers.
• Maintain technical documentation.
