Job summary

Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking a Generator Field Service Technician to service, repair, and maintain diesel and gas engine-driven standby generators at residential, commercial, and industrial sites across local counties. You will help clients keep power on by performing preventative maintenance, inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a technical school in generators, diesel, power gen, electric power, relay, or substation tech.
• 3+ years of experience operating a vehicle with a valid, unrestricted driver’s license
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, operating manuals, and safety guidelines
• Mechanical aptitude and/or technical training acceptable in lieu of formal schooling
• Strong communication and customer service skills

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on diesel and gas engine-driven standby generators.
• Inspect mechanical and electrical systems through visual checks.
• Test load bank, ATS, and function tests.
• Troubleshoot issues including alternators, wiring, switches, and battery systems.
• Assist with commissioning, start-ups, and control panel programming.
• Complete reports and documentation of work performed.
• Travel in company vehicle to client sites and maintain vehicle readiness.
