Job summary

Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking a Generator Field Service Technician to service, repair, and maintain diesel and gas engine-driven standby generators in the field for residential, commercial, and industrial clients. You will perform preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and commissioning tasks to keep critical power systems operational.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a technical school or equivalent training in generators, diesel, or power systems.
• Some experience in repair or maintenance of generators is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Mechanical aptitude can substitute for formal generator training.

Responsibilities

• Service, repair, and maintain diesel and gas engine-driven standby generators in the field.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on mechanical and electrical systems.
• Test and diagnose faults in alternators, wiring, switches, and control panels.
• Complete service reports and communicate findings clearly to customers.
• Travel in company vehicle to client sites within local counties and maintain inventory and vehicle readiness.
