Job summary

IPS is seeking a Generator Field Service Technician to service, repair, and maintain diesel and gas engine-driven standby generators in the field, serving residential, commercial, and industrial clients. You will stay prepared to work in diverse environments and travel as needed in local counties.

You will perform preventive maintenance, inspections, cleaning, testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and fault diagnosis while documenting work and communicating clearly with customers about issues

Qualifications

• Graduation from a technical school is desirable with generator, diesel, or power-gen focus.
• Experience in repair or maintenance of generators is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read schematics, operating manuals and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Service, repair, and maintain diesel and gas engine-driven standby generators in the field.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, cleaning, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
• Communicate clearly with customers about issues and resolutions; complete work reports.
