Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a General Manager to lead a Business Unit with full P&L responsibility and a matrixed team including Operations, Fleet, Sales, Finance, HR, Safety and Environmental Compliance.

The role focuses on implementing market strategies, driving profitability, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance while building relationships with customers, vendors and municipal stakeholders. Travel up to 30% may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with at least 3 years of progressive leadership and management responsibility.
• Minimum of 3 years of P&L experience.
• Preferred: experience in environmental services and prior Fortune 500 employment.
• Experience in labor relations.
• Minimum of 7 years progressive leadership and management responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Implement plans to support the Area's strategic operating plan and drive profitability.
• Lead commercial, industrial, residential and municipal sales efforts to achieve growth objectives.
• Oversee safety and accident prevention programs and maintain a safe work environment.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, accounting and ethics standards.
• Build strong relationships with government, community and environmental groups.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% as needed.
• Direct multiple sites and business lines to achieve strategic goals.
