Republic Services, Inc. seeks an Operations Manager - Hauling to lead a dispersed team responsible for collections, container delivery and pickup across the business unit.

The role partners with the General Manager to implement local market strategies and drive safety, regulatory compliance and performance goals. You will manage Supervisors, Dispatchers, Clerks, Drivers and Helpers, develop a high‑performing culture, control expenses and optimize route productivity while ensuring excellent

Responsibilities

• Manage staff including hiring, training, coaching and performance management; develop supervisory goals and resolve safety issues.
• Execute plans to support the business unit strategy and profitability while maximizing customer experience and growth.
• Ensure maximum productivity and route management; monitor labor hours and expenses.
• Interact with customers and government employees to resolve issues and ensure compliance.
• Oversee safety programs and a safe work environment; implement loss control measures.
• Lead compliance with standards—environmental, operating, safety, accounting and ethics.
• Approve expenses and budgets for the operations department; manage POs and pricing with vendors.
• Develop a best-in-class team and workplace culture; promote talent development and best-practice sharing.
• Build strong relations with government, community and environmental groups.
