Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a General Manager to lead a Business Unit with full P&L responsibility. In a matrix environment, you will manage division-level leaders in Operations, Fleet, Sales, Finance, HR, Safety, and Environmental compliance.

You will implement local market strategies that align with broader objectives, drive profitability, and sustain new processes to grow the unit. This role requires strong leadership and change management across multiple sites.

• Ability to lead large teams and drive change initiatives.
• Experience directing multiple sites and business lines.

Responsibilities

• Execute plans to support the Area’s operating plan and profitability.
• Drive sales efforts across commercial, industrial, residential, and municipal sectors.
• Ensure safety and compliance across operations and environmental standards.
• Develop talent and manage performance across the unit.
• Build relations with government, community and external stakeholders.
• Travel up to 30% as required.
