Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Technical Specialist, General Liability, to manage and investigate moderate complexity injury and property damage claims—from first notice through resolution. You will determine coverage, evaluate liability, establish reserves, and issue timely payments within authority and guidance.

You will mentor Claim Reps, collaborate with counsel on litigation strategies, and adapt to new technology and AI-enabled tools while maintaining accurate records and strong customer

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher not required but helpful; initial qualification emphasizes liability/claims experience.
• Experience with claims management systems and MS Office/enterprise platforms.
• Active adjuster license where required by state law; strong communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage an active caseload of injury and/or property damage claims and litigation from first notice to resolution.
• Handle high-complexity liability claims including coverage disputes and indemnity issues.
• Gather information from all relevant parties to determine coverage, liability, and reserves; communicate findings clearly.
• Negotiate settlements within authority; coordinate with counsel and external vendors as needed.
• Maintain accurate claim activity records in management systems and adapt to new technology and AI tools.
