Job summary

Travelers Insurance in Indianapolis seeks a Technical Specialist, General Liability to manage and investigate moderate complexity injury and property damage claims from first notice to resolution, communicating with customers and stakeholders, evaluating coverage, liability, and reserves.

The role requires strong negotiation, mentorship of Claim Reps, accuracy in records, and adaptability to new technology and AI tools, with travel as needed and licensing within three months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years liability/claim experience.
• Two years of litigation claim experience.
• Active adjuster license where required by state law.
• Experience with claims management systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage active caseload of injury and property damage claims through resolution.
• Investigate information and determine coverage and reserves.
• Communicate with customers, counsel, vendors and stakeholders.
• Negotiate settlements within authority and issue payments.
• Support litigation management with Counsel.
• Maintain accurate claim activity records in systems.
• Identify areas for process improvements.
• Adapt to technology updates and AI tools.
• Maintain required insurance licenses within three months.
• Travel as needed for mediations or trials.
