Position Overview

TTH is seeking an experienced General Liability Attorney to represent insurance and corporate clients in general liability matters in our Fairfax, VA office. The ideal candidate is a skilled litigator who can manage a caseload independently, deliver strong results for clients, and contribute to the firm's collaborative and growth-oriented culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of general liability defense matters from intake through resolution, including pre-litigation, discovery, motion practice, trial, and appeal as needed.
• Represent clients in state and federal courts, as well as arbitration, administrative, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Take and defend depositions and prepare witnesses for testimony.
• Develop and execute case strategy in coordination with clients, adjusters, and defense teams.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with clients regarding case status, strategy, and outcomes.
• Negotiate settlements and participate in mediations where appropriate.
• Collaborate with partners, associates, and support staff to ensure efficient and high-quality case handling.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant statutes, case law, and procedural rules across applicable jurisdictions.
• Participate in business development, networking, and client relationship-building efforts.
• Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to a collegial, team-oriented office culture.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in good standing in the relevant state(s); additional bar admissions in the multiple state’s is a plus.
• Prior experience in civil litigation defense; general liability experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated litigation skills, including motion practice, discovery, depositions, and trial experience.
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Excellent communication and client management skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently while working collaboratively within a team.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
• Interest in business development and long-term professional growth.
