Job summary

Thomas, Thomas, and Hafer, LLP in Fairfax, VA seeks an experienced General Liability Attorney to join our civil litigation defense team. The ideal candidate will manage a caseload independently and deliver strong results for clients in state and federal courts, arbitration, and other forums. You will conduct legal research, draft pleadings, take depositions, and collaborate with partners and staff.

A J.D. and active bar license are required, with prior general liability defense experience highly

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in good standing; multi-state admissions a plus.
• Prior experience in civil litigation defense; general liability exposure preferred.
• Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of general liability defense matters from intake through resolution.
• Represent clients in state and federal courts, arbitration, and other proceedings.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Take and defend depositions and prepare witnesses for testimony.
• Develop and execute case strategy in coordination with clients and defense teams.
• Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to a collegial office culture.
