Thomas, Thomas, and Hafer, LLP (TTH) is seeking an experienced General Liability Attorney to represent insurance and corporate clients in general liability matters from our Richmond, VA office. A skilled litigator capable of managing a caseload independently and delivering strong results will fit well within our collaborative, growth-oriented culture.

The ideal candidate holds a J.D. from an accredited school, an active Virginia license (multi-state admissions a plus), and proven civil

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Virginia (or multi-state admissions).
• Civil litigation defense experience required; general liability preferred.
• Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently while collaborating with a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of general liability defense matters from intake through resolution.
• Represent clients in state and federal courts, arbitration, and ADR proceedings.
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Take and defend depositions and prepare witnesses for testimony.
• Develop and execute case strategy with clients, adjusters, and defense teams.
• Communicate regularly with clients regarding status, strategy, and outcomes.
• Negotiate settlements and participate in mediations where appropriate.
• Collaborate with partners, associates, and staff to ensure efficient case handling.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of statutes, case law, and procedural rules.
