Job summary

Carvana is hiring for a boots-on-the-ground Safe & Secure role at a 24/7 site. You’ll protect associates, customers, and the flow of thousands of vehicles, with hands-on duties at the gate and on the lot.

You’ll perform safety audits, respond to incidents, and coordinate with Inspection Center and Logistics teams to keep operations moving smoothly. Expect to de-escalate conflicts, maintain calm under pressure, and uphold Carvana’s safety standards across all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in a customer service environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• A track record of solid decision-making in a complex, fast-moving environment.
• Ability to build strong working relationships and connect with people quickly.
• Ability to organize, plan, and execute multiple tasks at once in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to handle conflict in a positive, productive way.

Responsibilities

• Lead with a service-first mindset in every interaction.
• Be the face of Carvana at the gate for associates, vendors, and visitors.
• Communicate clearly and actively listen to signals.
• Use the Safe & Secure tools to monitor live activity and respond to alerts.
• De-escalate situations and work with partners to resolve issues.
• Lead gate operations using SAS App and RFID tech, enforcing entry/exit procedures.
• Manage vehicle movement through Inspection Center entrances/exits.
• Receive first aid, CPR, and AED training and apply as needed.
• Know emergency protocols and act decisively when seconds count.
• Keep the site operational in all weather conditions and environments.
• Promote a safety-first culture by conducting safety audits and training peers.
• Scan vehicles and ensure accurate tracking of inventory and flow.
• Conduct walking inspections of restricted areas and oversee safety posture.
• Prepare and deliver clear operational reports to leadership.
