Qualifications

• Knowledge of HMOs, PPOs, Medicare, BC/BS and other restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Reserves all operating rooms and schedules related equipment for operative procedures.
• Cancels scheduled cases in a timely manner.
• Notifies affected individuals of changes in surgery dates or times.
• Prepares and reproduces the master operating room schedule and distributes copies.
• Maintains patient records and filing systems for admission or surgery.
• Communicates prerequisites and insurance requirements to physicians' offices.
• Escalates posting concerns to Practice Manager during daily huddle.
• Schedules procedures with surgeons and hospital departments in cooperation with patients.
