Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students across multiple grades to support academic success, attendance, and positive classroom behaviors. You will monitor progress, design engaging activities, and partner with teachers for in-class support.

Initial training is provided; a stipend is offered, and opportunities include nationwide AmeriCorps benefits and relocation support.

Qualifications

• Experience in coaching and mentoring students is not required but helpful.
• Ability to develop literacy and math skills through varied activities.
• Desire to work with teachers and school staff to support learning.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor elementary to high school students 1:1 and in groups.
• Support literacy and math progress with varied activities by level.
• Create behavior management plans and reinforce positive habits.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress and data entry.
