Job summary

City Year is seeking an entry-level, paid, full-time Student success coach and mentor. AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students, helping them achieve academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive school behaviors.

You will plan and monitor progress, work with teachers on classroom instruction, and support whole-school initiatives through tutoring, enrichment, and leadership development. Training is provided at year start.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
• Be 17–25 by July 1, 2025.
• Have a GED or high school diploma, some college, or college degree.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress.
• Collaborate with teachers on class instruction and student support.
• Create an engaging, safe and healthy classroom space.
• Support extended programs before, during, and after school.
