Job summary

AEG Vision in Dell Rapids, SD, is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to join our front-office team. You will manage patient flow, schedule optimization, and seamless coordination with the care team to deliver a supportive, patient-centered experience.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, handling calls and emails, confirming appointments, verifying insurance, entering data in EMR, and assisting with billing while maintaining confidentiality. On-site, full-time role with benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to learn EMR.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with a focus on patient-centered service.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Ability to proactively identify issues and contribute to solutions in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to maintain patient and practice confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and serve as primary contact for patient interactions.
• Schedule and optimize provider appointments, including cancellations and same-day fills.
• Verify insurance eligibility and enter patient demographics into EMR.
• Manage charges, co-pays, and payments in EMR and assist with claim submission.
• Monitor patient flow and provider schedules to improve efficiency.
• Communicate wait times and next steps to patients.
• Coordinate with clinical and optical teams for smooth care transitions.
• Support recall, follow-up, and annual/medically necessary appointments.
• Maintain a clean, patient-ready front office.
