Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Basic computer literacy is required.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, customers, and vendors entering the practice in a friendly and welcoming manner.
• Answer and respond to telephone inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
• Gather patients and insurance information.
• Verify and enter patient demographics into EMR ensuring all fields are complete.
• Verify vision and medical insurance information and enter EMR.
• Communicate insurance information to patients clearly.
• Pull schedules to check insurance eligibility prior to appointments and ensure files are complete.
• Prepare insurance claims and run reports to ensure charges are billed and filed.
• Print and prepare forms for patient visits.
• Collect and document all charges, co-pays, and payments into EMR.
• Allocate balances to insurance as needed.
• Maintain a clean workspace at all times.
• Use equipment and supplies economically.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
