Job summary

Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell, PA seeks a custodial staff member for the 2nd shift (3:00pm–11:30pm). The hourly rate is $15.75, including a 5% shift differential. This position requires a pre-employment drug screening.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: sanitize/restock restrooms; mop floors; dust and vacuum; wash windows; empty trash; clean desks and boards; set up rooms for events; assist with snow removal.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or 1–2 years experience required.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Must be physically capable of performing all duties.
• Must be able to read, write, and follow routine instructions.
• Ability to work within a team-oriented setting.

Physical Requirements:
• Functions as part of the emergency response team and is expected to work when the College is closed, for emergencies.
• Must be able to lift trash containers weighing up to 30 pounds and deposit bags in larger trash container on trash cart.
• Must be able to perform bending, stretching, kneeling repetitive movements such as those involved in sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing, washing walls & chalkboards, cleaning/sanitizing restrooms, or shoveling snow.
• Must be able to perform repeated bending of knees and kneeling for extended periods of time while removing accumulated buildup from baseboards and edges of walls and floors.
• Must be able to perform repeated climbing and balancing on ladders for extended periods of time while changing lights, high-dusting ball lights, window ledges, etc.
• Must be able to push & pull and lift & carry for extended periods of time while delivering and moving equipment and supplies.
