WNCSource is hiring a Full-Time Classroom Support Specialist to work as a Teacher Assistant or Center Floater in our Early Head Start, Head Start and NC Pre-K programs.

You will help create nurturing learning environments, track progress, and partner with families while supporting a safe, engaging classroom and smooth transitions for children.

Qualifikationen

• Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, or CDA credential, or state CDA-equivalent certificate while enrolled in a degree program.
• Degrees must be from an accredited college recognized by NC DCDEE.
• Positive attitude, strong communication, and a commitment to helping young children succeed.

• Track student progress with ongoing assessments to support School Readiness goals.

If you are energetic, passionate about early learning, and eager to help young children thrive, this is the perfect opportunity! In this role, you will play a key part in creating nurturing learning environments across our Early Head Start, Head Start, NC Pre-K, and Wrap Around programs.

What You Will Do (And Love!)

• As a Teacher Assistant:
• Guide Early Development: Plan and lead Head Start curriculum experiences addressing physical, social-emotional, cognitive, and language growth.
• Track Student Progress: Conduct ongoing assessments to tailor instruction and help children reach School Readiness Goals.
• Partner with Families: Build strong, positive relationships with parents through home visits, conferences, and daily communication.
• Ensure Smooth Transitions: Help children and families successfully transition into and out of Early Head Start programs.
• As a Center Floater:
• Provide Dynamic Support: Step in to assist with classroom care, instruction, and supervision when teachers or assistants step away or need an extra pair of hands.
• Support Center Teams: Assist Site Supervisors, Office Staff, or Cooks as needed to keep early learning operations running smoothly.
• Maintain Safety: Ensure a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment inside classrooms and on the playground.

Education & Qualifications

Minimum Education/Credentials: Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, OR a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, OR a state-awarded certificate meeting/exceeding CDA requirements while enrolled in an Associate or Bachelor's degree program.

Accreditation: All degrees/coursework must be from an accredited college recognized by the NC Department of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE).
