WNCSource in Hendersonville, NC seeks a Part-Time Child Care / Preschool Classroom Support Specialist to assist infant classrooms and support Lead Teachers with high-quality, responsive caregiving for infants aged 6 weeks to 13 months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• NC Early Childhood Credential or actively working toward NC Early Childhood Certificate, Infant/Toddler CDA, or equivalent coursework.
• Preferred: Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teachers in the infant room with children ages 6 weeks to 13 months, providing high-quality supplemental support and responsive caregiving.
• Lead and participate in classroom activities aligned with WNCSource Head Start philosophy and goals.
• Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and families.

What You Will Do (And Love!)

Nurture Our Youngest Learners: Assist Lead Teachers in the infant room with children ages 6 weeks to 13 months, providing high-quality supplemental support and responsive caregiving.

Engage & Inspire: Lead and participate in classroom activities consistent with WNCSource Head Start philosophy and goals.

Build Strong Relationships: Foster positive, trusting, and supportive connections with children, parents, and families.

Ensure Safety & Well-being: Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment inside the classroom and out on the playground.

Education & Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Minimum Credentials/Coursework: NC Early Childhood Credential, or actively working toward an NC Early Childhood Certificate, Infant/Toddler CDA (Child Development Associate), or equivalent coursework (or commitment to work toward an Associate's/CDA/Certificate).

Preferred Education: Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Services, or a related field.
