WNCSource in Brevard, NC seeks a Substitute Early Childhood Educator to provide flexible, on-call classroom support for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. You’ll step into our preschool rooms to keep routines, safety, and engagement high while regular staff are out.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• CDA credential.
• Associate’s Degree in ECE or related field.
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in ECE or related field.

• Provide Quality Care: Step into classrooms and deliver nurturing care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers (ages 6 weeks to 5 years).
• Support Daily Classroom Life: Keep routines smooth, safe, and engaging when regular teaching staff is out.

If you love working with children, enjoy variety in your day, and want the freedom of an on-call, flexible work schedule, this is the perfect role for you! You'll step-in on an as-needed basis to keep our preschool classrooms bright, engaging, and safe for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old.

What You Will Do (And Love!)

Provide Quality Care: Step into classrooms and assist in delivering high-quality, nurturing care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers (ages 6 weeks to 5 years).

Support Daily Classroom Life: Keep routines smooth, safe, and engaging when regular teaching staff is out.

Inspire Young Minds: Help children learn, play, and explore through age-appropriate activities.

Build Community Connections: Join a supportive team dedicated to empowering children and families in Polk County.

Education & Qualifications

We reward your background and education! Starting hourly rates are based on your credentials:

High School Diploma / GED: $15.21 / hour

Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential: $16.37 / hour

Associate’s Degree (ECE or related field): $16.90 / hour

Bachelor’s Degree or Higher (ECE or related field): $19.01 / hour

Experience & Requirements

Experience: Previous experience in child development—whether through working with your own children, leading a group of children, or through official child development training.

Passion: A positive attitude and a passion for working with young children!
