Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Software Engineer for the CDP Payment Acceptance team. You will ship end-to-end features across Go backend and React/Next.js frontend, enabling onchain settlement and merchant checkout.

You'll own APIs, work with Temporal workflows, databases, and observability, and collaborate with product and design to deliver reliable payment experiences at scale.

This role emphasizes reliability, security, and performance as we scale payments for global commerce in a remote-first company.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional full-stack software engineering shipping production systems in Go and TypeScript/React
• Demonstrated experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) including schema design, migrations, performance
• Proven track record designing APIs (protobuf/gRPC, REST, OpenAPI) and instrumenting production systems with observability tools
• Experience building durable workflow systems (Temporal, Cadence, or Step Functions) or working with EVM blockchains, stablecoins, and onchain payment patterns
• Clear design docs, PR descriptions, and runbooks to enable cross-team collaboration
• Responsible use of generative AI tools and copilots in daily workflows to improve efficiency and output

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end feature delivery across Go backend services and the React/Next.js checkout experience
• Build and refine the buyer checkout UI with a focus on conversion, accessibility, and performance
• Implement durable payment workflows using Temporal for onchain settlement, refunds, and reconciliation
• Instrument changes with logs, metrics, and traces; own on-call rotation for your services
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to integrate Payment Acceptance into Coinbase's platform
