Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC seeks a Sr. Operations Manager to lead site-wide operations at the Suffolk Fulfillment Center, owning budgetary performance and people development.

You will manage and mentor a team of Operations and Area Managers, set clear requirements, measure performance, and drive Lean initiatives to meet the business plan. Collaborating with HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety and IT, you will ensure safety, quality and a superior customer experience while building leadership bench

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; relevant experience in operations or manufacturing.
• 7+ years direct management experience in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment.
• Experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques.
• Experience with staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and terminations.
• Flexibility to work varied hours including overnight, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Drives creation of quality initiatives and Lean initiatives to meet the business plan.
• Overall safety, quality, performance and customer experience for Inbound/Outbound operations.
• Set and clarify requirements for Operations and Area Managers; measure performance and accountability.
• Leverage staff to source ideas and create improvement plans; share best practices across departments.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT to secure resources for projects and initiatives.
