Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Sr. Operations Manager in Suffolk, VA to lead a site-wide operations team, drive Lean initiatives, and ensure safety, quality and customer experience.

You will coach Area Managers, set performance expectations, and collaborate with HR, Finance and Facilities to secure resources for strategic projects. The role requires 7+ years of management, staffing lifecycle experience, and the ability to manage multiple shifts, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• 7+ years direct management experience in manufacturing, production or distribution.
• Experience with performance metrics and process improvement and Lean techniques.
• Experience with the full staffing lifecycle including interviewing, hiring and performance management.

Responsibilities

• Drives creation of quality initiatives and Lean initiatives to meet business plans.
• Responsible for safety, quality, performance and customer experience of either Inbound or Outbound operations.
• Sets and clarifies requirements for Operations and Area Managers; measures performance and provides feedback.
• Leverages managers to source ideas and create improvement plans for the area.
• Ensures best practices are shared across departments and shifts.
• Collaborates with HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and other Sr. Operations Managers for resources and support.
