Job summary

Government Recruitment Service is seeking a Verification Assurance Officer (Southern) based at Weymouth to work on frontline fraud prevention in Jobcentre and Service Centre sites. The role involves face-to-face claimant interviews, verifying documents and enhancing fraud controls as part of the welfare system safeguards.

The VAO will collaborate with Jobcentre colleagues to deliver robust verification processes, educate customers on responsibilities, and contribute to the Fraud, Error and Debt

Qualifications

• Experience in conducting verification or interview-based processes
• Strong communication and analytical skills
• Willingness to travel between sites if required

Responsibilities

• Interview claimants and verify documents for identification and housing-related costs
• Conduct evidence interviews and verification activities within Jobcentre teams
• Provide regular feedback on fraud trends at office meetings
• Lead customer education sessions to clarify responsibilities and consequences of non-compliance
• Maintain accurate Management Information (MI) as directed by analysts
