Job summary

Government Recruitment Service is seeking a Verification Assurance Officer (Central) based in Malvern. The role requires on-site presence at Jobcentre locations, with travel between sites as needed. You will interview claimants, verify documents, and educate customers on responsibilities to prevent fraud in the welfare system.

This is a permanent, full-time position. As part of the Fraud, Error and Debt strategy, you will work with Jobcentre colleagues to strengthen frontline verification

Qualifications

• Experience conducting interviews and evidence gathering to assess document validity.
• Knowledge of fraud controls and frontline verification processes.
• Ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and customers to explain responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Jobcentre and Service Centre teams to conduct evidence interviews and verification activities.
• Perform robust interviews when there is suspicion about documents for identification, housing costs, and related Universal Credit elements.
• Lead review meetings with customers and internal teams to gather evidence for claims.
• Provide feedback on fraud trends and assist in risk and intelligence activities.
• Lead customer education sessions with Jobcentre colleagues on responsibilities and consequences of non-compliance.
• Maintain accurate Management Information (MI) as directed by analysts.
