Job summary

Government Recruitment Service is seeking a Verification Assurance Officer (VAO) for our Southern region, based in Alton. The role focuses on frontline fraud prevention within Jobcentre and Service Centre sites, requiring in-person interviews and collaboration with colleagues to strengthen verification controls.

You will conduct evidence interviews, educate customers, and maintain MI while working closely with risk teams. This is a full-time, on-site position with no hybrid or home-working.

Qualifications

• Experience in fraud prevention or investigations.
• Strong communication and face-to-face interview skills.
• Ability to travel between sites may be required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and further evidence interviews with Jobcentre/service centre teams.
• Interview documents for verification of ID, housing costs, children and childcare elements.
• Hold review meetings when ERT and customers bring in evidence.
• Share trends and fraud patterns at office meetings; coordinate with risk teams.
• Lead customer education sessions with colleagues on responsibilities and compliance.
• Maintain accurate MI as directed by analysts and performance teams.
